Spring Break

School's been taking a super toll on me lately...
I scrambled to reach deadlines, mainly with this one painting- but it was accepted into the senior show! So all of those sleepless nights and days of dirty hair paid off! I couldn't take my roots anymore and bleached my whole head. There's this weird spot where some of the purple and pink wouldn't come out, so there's this weird bluish/magenta stain on the side of my head. Anime Boston's coming up and I intend to have nice hair for that, so spring break is beautification week. I'm dying to get my nails done, but alas, I'm broke beyond belief. I intend to live on oatmeal during AB... Thank god for press passes! I have to write a killer article afterward. Planning my outfits... More later!

Darian and Em East Village adventure

So my girl Darian (check out her tumblr!) was back in the City on break after RISD Wintersession (in which she TA'd for this Rad as hell creature creation class). She wanted to poke around Trash & Vaudeville and I was like hell yeah lets fuck around St. Marks and the east village.

We checked out Trash & Vaudeville, Vampire Freaks, Tokyo Rebel (which we have lovingly renamed Tokyo Rebellion), The Sock Man and Search and Destroy. It was so fun looking around and chatting with the staff. They were all super chill and fun. The dude in Trash was quoting Star Wars and Beetlejuice at/with us. Everyone was super sweet.

We worked up a sweat in the ridiculously warm weather and then pigged out on bubble tea at T-Kettle.

After they renovated they became a sit down place so you either had to get your drink and get the fuck out or get a table with a waiter and drink things in glasses and ugh. I missed the old one where you could get your drink and then just hang out however long and leave. To my great joy, they changed back! So now it's classy looking and chill.

We sat in there for a long time talkin and after a while we were telling ghost stories. I'm a huge wuss so I'm sitting there with goosebumps and my face in my hands freaking out. Har har

I spoiled myself and bought this bat necklace at Trash (the big one! I bought the moon one in Tokyo)

Odyn Vovk and BESS

So I was lucky enough to get to attend the Odyn Vovk A/W 2011 "Spiral" runway presentation, and the BESS dropout party fashion show at Don Hills. I was blown away! I wish I could have one of the BESS pink leather jackets and this awesome black and white cut out dress.
